The leash belay was developed by Grisha Stewart for use with BAT 2.0 and 3.0. Here are resources for the equipment and how to use it.
Equipment
1) Carabiner with pulley and rappel ring - you can buy them from climbing stores, or purchase a kit from Grisha.
2) Round leash that can easily move through the ring and pulley, such as:
BAT Leash 15 Feet (5 Meters): 3/8 inch (115) (3/8” for dogs under 35 lbs)
BAT Leash 15 Feet (5 Meters): 1/2 inch (117) (1/2” for dogs 35+ lbs)
NO HANDLE BAT Leash 15 Feet (5 Meters) (3/8” for dogs under 50 lbs, 1/2” for dogs 50+ lbs)
Super Long Recall/Tracking Leash: Orange (3/8” or 1/2” wide, 30’ or 50’ long)
3) Waist belt, such as:
